{OOC}Recap of Prior Events: After Starscream's successful capture of Ratchet, the Autobots planned out a rescue mission. At Soundwave's hands, valuable intel on the Autobots was retrieved, much to Ratchet's dismay. Autobot Spectre met a grisly end at the hands of the Decepticon sniper, Desinex. It is unknown whether he will be missed, but more than likely, not...>.>
Four teams, lead by Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Prowl and Wheeljack, with a team lead by Cloudburst on recovery, infiltrated the Decepticon base in a recovery effort which was executed with near perfection. The only casualties on the Autobot side were two of the Aquabots, Depth Charge and Coast Guard, who met their demise due to not following a direct order to stay out of the way of the explosion that destroyed a base-sized Decepticon.
Now, with their CMO safely back at base, the Autobots are dealing with the aftermath of the incident, taking things one step at a time...

Wheelie nodded his head, "Okay."
The sparkling decided that good enough and turned his attention to get on to the berth to sleep.
~*~*~*~*~*~ Callous Metal mused to herself, "....I think I am going to have to make sure the sparkling never get hands on any of my bombs..."
Though, she laughed to herself at the thought of the sparkling being annoy to Starscream.
OOC: ....*shake fist at her post!bunnies* WAKE UP! Seriously. Need ideas for the rest of my charaters!

Prowl tipped his head in acknowledgement of Ironhide, optics fixed on the doorway where the Hummer had stomped through.
"You both work well together," he offered quietly, turning his gaze to the black mech.

Ironhide paced a few steps - away, back. He looked at the Nissan from beneath lowered optic ridges, unsure where Prowl was going with this. Once bitten and all that. And the yellow biter in the next cell over. He was not ashamed or really even all that embarrassed about the information being out. On his end, it pretty much seemed to be common knowledge since he found out that Ratchet had been taken. But on the medic's end, he was so used to being kept at arm's reach he wasn't sure quite how Ratch was taking it. After a moment of consideration he replied carefully.
"You noted we've been on the same assignments. Practice for how the other will react."

Medbay.
Ratchet had eventually worked his way around most of the space, and now was picking over the medkits that 'Hide had been working on. It was decent work, he thought. But then again, the great lunk would be well acquainted with the inside of a medkit...
From there it was easy enough to restock the kits and pack them away, and push through order forms for supplies. It was after that left the Hummer a little on edge; going through the nicely embellished message that had been sent base-wide by those Grandfathers of all Jokers, Sunny and Sides. Way to push the hand, he grumbled to himself. Way to make things a little easier, as well. At least they'd saved him the trouble of actually explaining. Now he'd just have to stare down whichever mech chose to rib him about it and worry about keeping his core temps from spiking on infrared.
--------------------
The set of his optics and doorwings more than anything gave away his amusement. It hadn't been all that he'd implied; Hummer and Topkick made for a striking pair in themselves. Cannons and wrenches. Prowl cut his glance to the golden Lambo, then back to Ironhide. He might just pull a few and ensure that the frontliner would have to go on Wide Patrol... in inclement weather.

Showtime grinned a little, tilting her head slightly. "Really? was nice of 'im...he say anythin' else?"
-----
Perceptor moved to assist Wheelie in climbing onto the berth, noting that there was only one berth in the room. He wondered, briefly, if there were other quarters nearby, before reminding himself that Wheelie had not asked for a guardian yet. "If you need anything, I shall either be in the common room, or in my own quarters..."

Sideswipe grinned and said, "He did say "Good-bye, Lady Showtime." and I'm sure he said he want to meet you again."
Oh sure, that a little of a lie, but, I sure the 'con won't mind run into us again.
~*~*~*~*~ Wheelie smiled at Perceptor and tried to hug him a little, he said, "Thank you! And, will remember that, Mister Big Words."
"You are nice, I like you." The sparkling beamed at Perceptor before curling up to sleep, the sparkling said one more thing, "Good night, Mister Big Words."
~*~*~*~ After getting up from where he was sitting, Whirlwind HAD managed to see the ending of the chase and decided to followed them, he didn't go into the brig for he noticed something strange.
A vending machine.
WHAT THE SLAG?
OOC: Iffy on the Whirlwind part. >.>

The TopKick guessed at where Ratchet had stormed off to, and was annoyed he couldn't speak with him at the moment. He kept his optics on Prowl for a while. Realizing the tactician didn't seem inclined to elaborate on his initial statement, Ironhide started pacing the cell again.
"Awfully civil to someone that socked you and twice tried to collide with you. Didn't want collateral damage," he rumbled. As close to an apology as 'Hide did, and he was starting to feel like a observation subject. Dislike of rodents aside, he didn't want to be a lab rat.
------
Rewire chuckled at the dig. Old timer? Ahh. Age brings experience, love. He kept decent pace over a straightaway, Raven only pulling a few more carlengths ahead. He chuckled lightly, waiting for a change in terrain that would let him pull ahead.
-------
Making a low almost-moan, Cloudburst pulled close to her mate when he lay down. She was dimly aware that she had barely left the berth other than for the short, awkward meeting. But now, all she knew was that she needed to feel Redstar, and looked at him a moment with nearly shuttered optics. Melded to his chest, and tucking her head against his shoulder, she shivered and crashed into recharge.

"I think I can forgive most of it," the Nissan replied, optics slightly distant as a message blinked for attention on his HUD, prompting him to move to the doorway. "I also think I shall leave you to some sterling company; but leave some of him for Ratchet and myself, all right? I'm taking over patrol for someone else, but I'll be back in time to release the both of you."

Deluge glanced at Downrush when he pounced and grabbed the little mech before returning her attention to WakeJumper. "But there hasn't been, has there? I don't think you need to worry." She definitely didn't like seeing WakeJumper nervous. Her fingers itched to take the youngling and hold him till he calmed down and went back into recharge.

The Seeker's optics narrowed at his wingmate's voice. He knew what that tone meant; distraction away from Skywarp himself. Slaggit. Peering down at the sparkling, Thundercracker cycled air through his vents in a sigh and leaned down, peeling Chimera from his leg. "Hello to you too, Chimera. Was Skywarp giving you a hard time?"
---
Downrush chuckled softly at WakeJumper's logic. "Usually. But obviously, where ever they have their inventors, it's contained enough to withhold and prevent their explosions. Now," carefully, the older Aquabot shifted the youngling over to Deluge. "Go back into recharge. Things are fine."
---
FireBond whined softly when Cloudburst shifted away from him, more than content to tumble down onto the seat of the sofa and curl back up there. He looked up at his dad, but yawned instead of asking a question.
---
Movements disabled, and that was only half of the worst. Sunstreaker hated being carried around. Especially by the medic that had disable most of his movement functions. Slag, did his vocalizer even work anymore? Obviously, but the last thing he wanted to do was to use it; Sideswipe had gotten the internal comms disabled because he had used them. So, as loathe as he was to do it, Sunstreaker forced himself to remain silent, just holding back his retorts to the other mech's comments about me. He hated time in the brig, hate hate hated time in the brig. Not that he'd let many mechs know, even if he wanted to. Which he didn't. Prowl and the rest of the slaggers could think he liked time in the brig. He didn't care. He remained silent until Ratchet actually disabled his vocalizer. Primus, he wanted to smack the medic on the head so much, and his glaring optics relayed the message. Now he was stuck, listening to the walking double-cannon and the resident copper do small-talk. This was just awful.

"He's right, WakeJumper. Nothing's going to hurt you. I promise."Deluge took WakeJumper and sat on the berth, holding him close. She let her systems run a little warmer to help him go into recharge. She shifted the youngling a little, one hand resting on his back and lifting him so he could nestle against her chest.

WakeJumper nodded a little, snuggling close to Deluge. Soon, his optics shuttered and he drifted back into recharge, limbs going slack.
-----------------
Perceptor chuckled a bit as he quietly left Wheelie to recharge. It was a pleasantly surprising contrast to how Showtime had behaved when she was that age. As the scientist headed off in search of his own quarters, he reminisced about the hurdles he had encountered in raising the femme. It was apparent to Perceptor that Wheelie, despite being quite young, was a bit more inclined towards interaction than Showtime had been, which had the scientist puzzled. It continued to puzzle him until he found some vacant quarters, and until he went into recharge.
---------------------
"Really? Huh...might hafta pay 'im a visit 'r somethin'...." Showtime grinned, even as she began to drift back into recharge.

Deluge shifted a little to be able to lean against the wall, the youngling nestled in her arms. That's better. Primus, please don't let anything happen again soon. For WakeJumper. I don't know if he can handle much so soon. She wrapped her arms a little tighter around WakeJumper protectively.

Starscream had just finished filing his reports and took great pleasure in being able to add his new old rank of DAC to his signature.
Life, for once, was good.
Once finished he went to the madbay to have his canopy replaced. With a self-satisfied smirk, he lazily stretched out on a berth.
"Well, are one of you going to come and attend to me?"
Blizzard cocked an optic ridge at Dissever and then rolled her optics. The last thing she really needed right now was to have to listen to that glitch's harsh voice with the way her processor felt at the moment.
Do we *have* to take care of him?
~*~*~*~
Raven laughed at Rewire.
That was a rather loaded statement, if I do say so myself, darlin'!
Raven pushed her speed until she was maxed out. Without warning, she did a drift, kicking up a cloud of dirt and dust around her. Tires scrabbled against the ground, barely keeping her on the ground. It had been a dangerous stunt, she knew that, but she didn't really care. At the peak of it, she could feel herself threatening to go into a roll, but she hung on for dear life, growling at herself, willing her tires to remain on the ground. As soon as the danger had presented its self, it passed and she was now barrelling straight for Rewire.
Feel like a game of chicken?
~*~*~*~
Redstar tried his best to keep his panic down. This was so unlike Cloudburst. She was usually strong, both physically and emotionally. Here in his arms was someone who was just the opposite. Gentle strokes on the back of her helm and back was an attempt to convey his concern for her.
Oh, please, be alright. I need ya.
~*~*~*~
Chimera ignored the attempts of Uncle Thunder to rid himself of her and once again attached herself to his leg. She peered up at him excitedly, bouncing slightly, as she told him what happened.
"No! SkyDork..."
"Chimera! What have I told you!" Nightstrike's optics closed and she sighed in exasperation.
Chimera shot her mother a withering look and rolled her optics.
"Fine! Sky*warp* hsn't been giving me any trouble. I've been giving him trouble. So has FrostBite. FrostBite went for his wings and I went for his knees! It was fun, Uncle Cracker! He said that he is the best flier here, but he's lying! It's mommy! I know it is! Mommy tried to make me say sorry to SkyDo...warp, but I said no. Daddy made me do it anyway."

Ironhide glanced at Sunstreaker on his next circuit of the confined space, and grunted an acknowledgment to Prowl. "Fine. He's no entertainment silent and still anyway."
Yeah. Few hours stuck next to Sunny was always a joy.

"His whining is a weapon in itself," the Nissan said dryly as he left, going topside for patrol.
--------------------
Unfortunately, Blizzard, we do. Look, you just stay there, I'll handle it. Doubt your processors will thank you for having to be in such close proximity to that screech.
"Yes, yes, and whoah. You wrecked your canopy. Looks like someone is an even bigger fan of pain than I thought." Carefully plain, innocent faceplates as the Benz assessed damage and went about his work, picking up what he needed.
--------------------
Okay. Fine.
6 hours. Boring. But he could deal, right?
Right?
Apparently not.
This is completely illogical, Ratchet grumbled to himself, pushing away from his desk and tossing the medical text onto it with a disgusted snort. Primus knows there were times when we weren't even on the same side of the universe, and 'Hide could probably give the Lambos a run for their money in counting brig time.
Illogical, maybe, but it did highlight how much he'd taken the weapon specialist's steady presence for granted.
I'm so sunk, he thought to himself with a half laugh, picking up the datapad again.

Damn straight it is, Sunstreaker finished Prowl's thought in a comm directed towards the two of you. And I know you can block these, but the beebing of a blocked message will drive you nuts. I know; I've tried to block Prowl before.

"Pit-spawned little fragger." Ironhide growled and glared through to the adjoining cell. He'd chosen his confinement, he was starting to wish he had chosen Solitary. Messages, spoken or commed, Sunny was being a thorn in 'Hide's servos. "Just mute it. You've done enough communicating for a while."

At some point, Bluestreak began to shift position on the berth. Shortly after he started shifting position, soft whimpers could be heard, as the gunner was caught in the grips of a nightmare.
