Showtime listened to the sparkling recount the things he and Perceptor had seen, nodding and mentally taking down notes for her 'map' of the area.
It was interesting, really, how Perceptor had taken in another sparkling who needed a guardian...interesting, and touching. Showtime couldn't help but smile.

Wheelie soon finished his count about what he saw and then remembered he had a question, and tilted his head toward Showtime, "Sister, can I ask you why you use a bow and arrows?"
The sparkling waited for her answer.
OOC: ...eh?

Shaba thought about what Starscream had told her; she loved her altmode...it had the perfect mix of beauty and deadliness...
...But, the Air Commander was right, the F-117 was solely designed to be a bomber, not a fighter. She also recalled, according to her constantly updated databanks on Earthen technology, that the Nighthawk was officially retired by the U.S. Airforce and was being replaced by the F-22A Raptor, an aircraft that was even stealthier than the F-117, yet exceeded the capabilities of the F-15.
"Exceeds the capabilities of the F-15?!" Shaba's optics widened as her databanks scrawled through the information.
"Why didn't I see this before? I must see Stormicus after I get out of this fraggin' medbay!'
Shaba glanced around, impatient now, wanting to be repaired and on her way.

Red nodded solemnly as he looked down at the battered form of Raven. “I owed it to you, like I said. I couldn’t just sit back and let the others go.” Placing a hand on Rewire’s shoulder he gently squeezed and quietly said, “If I had only been paying better attention...” He sighed as he hung his head and internally berated himself for not doing a better job. Usually Red was more on the ball, he was aware of nearly everyone’s comings and goings but lately he had allowed himself to become distracted and too wrapped up in himself and had taken his optics off what was important. “If there’s anything else I can do for you, please let me know. I-I’m going to the control room to monitor the other’s progress.”
Slowly he went to what amounted to his sanctuary, settled into his seat and checked the security cameras. Most of them were out of alignment a couple were not functioning at all. Most of the sensors were also out of whack. You idiot. Look at this mess. What if the Decepticons had launched a full scale attack on the base? We would have not stood a chance. There’s nothing else for it, I must rededicate myself to my job and not on... other things. Red scanned through the video feeds and paused on the one in the common room. He could clearly see Inferno with FireBond and Twilight and a wave of guilt swept over him. I will have to push for FireBond’s full protoform to be finished so he can take care of himself and Inferno... well... I can only hope he’ll understand.
Refusing to think about it anymore, he turned radars and scanners on the warriors still out in the field.
Redstar, sitrep, now.
Redstar had been firing from his hiding spot and providing some cover from those still retreating from his sister and nephew (yeah, that still was a weird thought...) but thought that they seemed to be slowing down.
Still waitin’ on Jazz n’ Wheeljack ta get their afts away from th’ ‘con camp. As it stands me, Hound n’ Ironhide ‘r takin’ cover.
Red frowned, Inform us when you have cleared the area. Red Alert out.
Redstar returned his attention back to the strafing runs of the ‘con jets and commed Jazz, Wheeljack, you wanna get outta there so we can call it a day?
~*~*~*~
Nightstrike and Quicksilver were still taking pot-shots at the retreating Autobots as they scurried across to the forest. She made one last flyby and fired her last few missiles into the woods.
Break off your attack Quicksilver and return to base.
Quicksilver gowled, They are still functional! We must finish them!
No. Not today. We were only sent out here to send a message, that is all. Now come. Nightstrike transformed as she landed and returned to the control room.
~*~*~*~
Quicksilver, although reluctant, followed his mother once he fired what he had left of his payload wildly at Jazz and Wheeljack, landed and went to the common room. He sneered when he saw Thundercracker there, “My mother called for you. Why did you not go? And do not tell me it was because the doors were locked.” He eyed the gash from Blizzard cutting through.
~*~*~*~
Starscream did not like the feeling he was getting from Shaba and he glanced at her from his remaining optic. No, he did not like this one bit.
“Hurry medic,” he snarled.
“Shut up or I’ll deactivate your vocalizer. I’m nearly done replacing your optic.” Blizzard’s hands moved steadily and quickly as she removed the shattered optic, cleaned out the orbit to ensure all debris was gone. A few connections and solders later she then settled the new optic into the socket and reactivated it. Scan, recalibrate, done. “There. How is it?”
He looked around, “Fine.”
Blizzard nodded, “Now your nose. Primus... Made a mess of that, didn’t they?” She took a small hammer and started to tap away at it. “Hmm... I have no choice but to make a new one. Won’t take a tick.” She moved to a workbench and took a sheet of metal. Using presses, hammers and other tools she soon had fashioned a new nose and brought it back and attached it, “There, good as new. Now your wing.”
Fingers flew over the surface, removing damaged plating and replacing it for new and welding it in place. “Fine, shoo, don’t do anything stupid. I don’t even know why I bother warning you as it is because you just ignore me.”
Starscream hopped off the berth and sneered at the medic before going to his quarters.
Then turning her attention to Shaba, she shook her head, “Dissever’s pretty damn peeved with you, you know? And don’t go back chatting me because I’ve heard it all before. Right... Let’s see... Bah, you’re not that bad. Few dents that’s all.” She moved quickly and hammered out the dents and dings and touched up the paint. “There, all done. Same speech as I gave Starscream goes for you. Now out.”

Rewire nodded slowly, focused on Raven on the berth once his friend left. He rubbed her cheek with his knuckles. 'ey love, you're home. You're safe.
---------
Optimus glanced over when Red returned to Control. Listening to the comms from the field, the last four needed to move. "You did well out there, Red Alert. Thank you for going at a moment's notice."
--------
The black pickup veered around missile impacts and barreled through the strafing runs from the jets. He managed to avoid the worst, aside from grazing and shrapnel. When Ironhide skidded into the woods, he turned to wait for the last two mechs, intakes cycling up a notch and he sank on his shocks. Now who was ready to yell at who about moving out-

What? Oh, no, I think I’m just gonna wait around here and see what I can do. Wheeljack responded, half-way rolling his optics as he transformed into his Lancia alt, taking off into the woods, and past the waiting Autobots. I mean, s’not like I couldn’t catch up or anything. I would’ve been fine.
---
Jazz had been uncertain of how to transport the, currently, limp Ravage. Subspace was out – he had stuff in there he’d rather not have ruined. Dragging him along behind his alt would’ve been a nice idea, but even so, he couldn’t even do that. He remained silent as he transformed into his alt, making sure that Ravage was indeed ‘knocked out,’ before getting the ‘Con onto the front seat. He made it through the woods and past the rest of them, hitting the road and starting off towards base. Still mildly pissed off.
---
Thundercracker looked over at Quicksilver before smirking. “Oh, so the great son of Megatron needed the help of little ol’ me?” Shaking his head, the Seeker stood, looking at Quicksilver levelly. “I apologize for overestimating your abilities. I’ll keep that in mind for next time.”

Shaba waited as patiently as she could while Blizzard made repairs to her armor. When the medic was finished, Shaba bolted off the berth and out of the medbay. She then went next door to Stormicus's lab and called for the CSO over the intercomm.
"Stormicus, I know you're in there...I need your help!" Shaba yelled when there was no answer initially.
The femme's yelling awoke the CSO from his recharge and grumbled, clearing his processors, and opened the door to let her in.
"Wha...Shaba?! Back so soon?" He was quite surprised to see her return from Cybertron after only two Earth months. "Primus, did you see those slaggin' Bots got us again?" he asked.
"Did I?" Shaba chuckled "I had to save Starscream's sorry aft from Ironhide...don't tell him that, though" she smirked, then turned curious "Why were they here, anyway...obviously, they wanted something from us."
Stormicus then turned to a monitor and played a video from the brig that showed the Autobots rescuing one of their femmes from a cell. "Oh, just another prisoner recovery...that one was Raven. Apparently, Starscream captured her and proceeded to conduct some 'experiments' on her...I'd just call it plain torture" the CSO scoffed. And that Pit-forsaken idiot calls himself a scientist!
Shaba nodded silently, processors recalling that Thundercracker had supposedly killed Raven in battle. "Interesting" was all that she said, though.
"Anyways, I came to see you about a problem that I have" Shaba was all serious now.
"Oh...alright then, let's have a seat and I'll grab us some energon" Stormicus replied, having no idea what the femme wanted; just glad he had some company once again.
((sorry, had to cut this short...got work to go to)) :<

Red brought himself out of his daze at the sound of Optimus’ voice and slowly dragged his optics around to look at the CO, “I had to go, sir.”
~*~*~*~
Once the others were clear, Redstar and Hound transformed and headed back to the base.
Dad, we’re on our way back. Out clean and smilin’. Well, more or less.
Red sighed and slumped a bit with the relief. Thank you Redstar, we’ll see you when you return.
~*~*~*~
Quicksilver raised an optic ridge at Thundercracker and decided not to take the bait. He raised an optic ridge and coolly replied, “Ah, I didn’t require your help.” He walked over to Thundercracker and put his hands on his hips, “We didn’t need you at all, as it was, but my mother was told to lead the attack and bring who she could. How poorly does it reflect upon you that you could have joined us when ordered yet here you sit?” He sneered, “Such a mighty warrior, indeed.”

Showtime nodded and knealt down so she was on Wheelie's level. "It's a really super secret reason, so I have to have your promise that you won't tell anybody..."
Perceptor shook his head, chuckling at Showtime's flair for the dramatic. Despite what the femme said, he had a feeling as to why she had chosen such a primative weapon, but he would keep his mouth closed this time.

Ironhide backed up, turned and fell in behind the others without a word as they headed back to the base. Once he reached the entrance, the TopKick rolled to a stop, blowing and shaking like a winded horse. The mech needed a few breems to gather himself before transforming back to his bipedal mode.
----------
Optimus looked carefully at the Security Chief, he certainly wasn't acting like he had just returned from a successful mission. "No, you didn't, Red Alert. I am sure that Rewire knows this. You were there when he needed you."

Red Alert sighed, "No, I did have to. Rewire has done more than enough for me. It was high time I returned the favour." Red turned back to his computer and softly muttered, "He's one of my very few friends."

"You did, admirably." The Peterbilt raised an optic ridge at the second imprecation, not sure if it would be better to correct or let slide. Eventually he choose to acknowledge it. "Surely you do not believe that, my friend."

Another heavy sigh came from Red but he refused to look at Optimus. "I'm not the easiest mech to get along with. I... I'm better off alone as it is. Lately I have not been up to my usual standards and things have started to slip. For this I apologize."

"There are mechs somewhere in this base that are easy to get along with?" He quipped with easy humor. "If we have stow-aways that you have not informed me of, please do so now. Red Alert, you kept a mech grounded when his bonded was cut off from him. Not an easy task. You found what happened to Raven when it was required and returned her to her mate." The CO tilted his helm. "I am not entirely sure about what your standards are, but if that is substandard I feel my position is in jeopardy."

At the mention of it being a super secret, the sparking's eyes widen and he nodded his head, "I promise I won't tell."
The sparkling looked solemn as he hold up his hand to his chest like he was doing a vow.
Or something. XD

Showtime tried not to giggle at the sparkling's actions. She leaned close and did a mock whisper, "I don't like guns. They're loud and scary." She nodded sagely.

Red's head snapped up and he looked at Optimus in horror, "No sir! I would never... could never!" His faceplates flushed warm when he realized it was a joke and he quietly said, "I... Just know how I like things to be done. And as I've already said, I only did what needed to be done." The next words did not come easy. Not because Red didn't like praise, he just found it difficult to accept it as truth. There always had to be a twist, an angle, something about it that didn't ring quite true. Almost inaudible he added, "Thank you, though, for the recognition."

Skywarp was still on his side as he awoke from his slumber when he felt something tapping on his chest. He looked down and saw golden orbs peering up at him. "What?" he inquired softly.
Illuminescence had been sleeping peacefully next to her father-creator when she woke up, "Nom."
Skywarp's optical ridges furrowed in a confused look, "Huh?"
The young seeker sparkling opened her mouth and pointed to it.
The jet's red optics widened in realization, "Ooooh you need to be fed." Skywarp slid off of the recharge berth and stood up before picking Illuminescence up in her arms. Skywarp manually unlocked the door and walked out into the hallway retracing his steps back to the lounge where the low-grade dispensor remained on the counter.
Illuminescence squealed with joy when they finally left the room and went to get some energon. She watched as the adult seeker unsubspaced the energon bottle and filled it up with the low-grade.
Skywarp reattached the lip and held it to the femme's lips who latched onto the bottle greedily. The black seeker chuckled at her reaction, "Hungry little one aren't you?" 'Maybe raising a sparkling isn't all that bad,' Skywarp thought to himself as he watched the sparkling... No. His sparkling feed from the bottle.

Optimus let a chuckle slip through, no malice in the sound. "Accountability," he agreed, nothing wrong with wanting things done right, and doing what needs to be done. He smiled slightly and tipped his helm, not forcing the mech to repeat the gratitude. Then the CO turned back to the panel before him.
