Deal, Rewire answered softly. He hadn't wanted to point out the loss of Raven's emblem. Considering changing that for her was an important moment for the two of them, it was the loss of the symbol more than the substance that hurt.
It's alright, I'll find a way to do something for you to make up for it. The Land Rover replied, trying to nudge her to movement instead of dwelling on it. He held out a hand, Wanna walk or wanna lift? little smirk across his lips. They'd be alright, they had to be. Rewire would do whatever he could to help his bonded get through this.

Raven looked at Rewire's hand for a moment as if it weren't there then carefully took it. She was weary and drained and just wanted to be someplace familiar and comforting. Turning hollow looking optics to Rewire she nodded Carry me please.

Watching Raven, a little flicker caught in Rewire's chest and he tried to keep it from roaring to a flame. The injuries were one thing; Raven's reaction when she woke, the crossed wires, and the loss of her chestplate... indicated a whole other magnitude that might have happened while she was taken.
He nodded and kissed the back of her hand. Then placed it against his neck, just over the delicate wires at his throat while he shifted his arms under her back and knees. It was a gesture of trust on his part; no matter what happened, he was still her mate. Straightening, the engineer gave Raven a moment to settle against his chest.

Stiffening slightly in Rewire's arms, Raven forced herself to relax and nestled her head into chest and closed her optics again losing herself in the gentle, steady pulse of his spark. The delicate fingers on his throat curled lightly against the wiring. Ok, I'm ready.

((This is not a double post. Cetus had problems with the site last night and she asked for me to post what she wrote on her behalf.))
Rewire waited for Raven to settle, then glanced over the medbay and turned to leave. He walked softly down the halls, letting his bonded hold his throat and rumbling gently from the back of his vocalizer. A bump to the keypad with his elbow and he brought them into their quarters to lay Raven on the berth. The Land Rover slid his arms from beneath her frame and sat on the edge, looking down at her trying to mask his conflicted expression.
~*~*~*~
((And here's my reply.))
The gentle sway as Rewire took Raven back to their quarters had nearly lulled her into recharge but there was a part of her that refused to drop off, something that kept whispering warnings to her that she might not be safe and even though she knew deep inside that was not true the fear was still there.
She peered around their room once Rewire lay her down, relieved to be back home when she looked up at Rewire and saw... something. A look. One she couldn't pin down though.
What's wrong?
~*~*~*~
Soundwave had kept a close optic on the progress of the drones as they worked beneath the base. "Megatron, construction of the bunker is complete."
Next to send the drones about the task of repairing the brig and the wall where the Autobots had made their way in.

Chimera finished cleaning herself up and made her way back to the common room hoping to find Thundercracker there feeling disappointed when she found that he was not. Looking around the options for company were really not great. Starscream, Quicksilver, Skywarp and his sparkling. With a sigh she made her way over to Skywarp and looked at the sparkling. "I was an absolute nightmare to my mother when I was a sparkling."

Skywarp jumped slightly as he was still listening to music when Chimera started talking to him, "Heh. You think your mom had it bad? Okay think about this; you are the mother-creator of triplets with nearly identical spark frequencies. Me and my brothers, Starscream and Thundercracker, are triplets. Now imagine having three sparkling mechs hitting two all at the same time. She had to raise all three of us by herself."

Chimera tilted her head, "Starscream never talks about you and Thundercracker as brothers. In fact I've never even heard Thundercracker say it. As for my mother, well, I was enough of a handfull for her. Although my brother FrostBite was still a sparkling at the time as well."

"I don't suppose they would. We don't really talk about it a lot," Skywarp shrugged he shifted position so he was crosslegged in his corner of the sofa with Lumi reclining peacefully in his arms.

"Heh. I know," Skywarp sighed with a slight smirk. He looked down when he could feel the sparkling in his arms stir with a slight whimper. Illuminescence was looking up at him with sad looking gold optics, "Hey. What's wrong little one?" The black seeker held her front to his chest.
She simply nuzzled his cheek and hid her face in his neck. Skywarp petted her head gently and looked up at the femme, "Of course I never knew I would have a daughter until yesterday either. I've always been sort of the irresponsible one. So there is a lot people don't know."

Chimera nodded and sat in a chair nearby. She considered the sparkling thoughtfully before speaking, "Before I was born I learned something from my mother. She seemed to draw an odd parallel between my father and herself and the social structures of terran pack animals such as wolves. Apparently the alpha pair generally do not accept any other offspring into the pack apart from their own. As you know my brother and I were the only sparklings born here so far. My brother FrostBite is an exception."

"She wasn't born here though. I found her abandoned in that field about five miles east of the base," Skywarp explained. "I didn't even know she existed until I fly out to investigate an mysterious energy signature. It didn't register on the radar what she was. That factor probably has to do with her being half neutral. The day I found her was the same day the base fell under attack."

Chimera chewed on the end of her pinkie. "No, you don't understand. The fact that she was not born here has nothing to do with it. She is not the daughter of the alpha pair. Her being accepted may be difficult." She cupped her chin in her hand and tilted her head, "Father, well, you know how he can be. My mother, although she might take a bit longer to come around, she will eventually. She loves sparklings, really."

"I hope so because she doesn't really have anywhere else to go. When I was checking her internal data I discovered her mother-creator, Oblivion Hawk had deceased by her name," Skywarp looked her in the optics, "So I'm all she has right now. I can't just throw her own. I'm irresponsible but I'm not sparkless."

Wheeljack had long since come to terms with the fact that, even though he had to play it, he was not a medic. Wheeljack was an engineer, and he made things explode. To focus himself to make things as good as they were and not 'better' was pushing his attention span. Of course, a good number of mechs would be on him if he decided to 'fix' a mech in his way. Even if they weren't broken. The worst was currently standing on the other side of the berth Ironhide was laying on. Everything about the black mech worried 'Jack. Frowning behind his mask, he looked up from fixing a few minor injuries. "He was acting like Megatron himself nearly rip out his spark, Ratch'," he murmured, looking back down and starting on the next tear in energon lines. "This level of injuries shouldn't make him nearly break down like that."
---
:Okay, can I point something out?: Sunstreaker remarked as he lay on his back in their shared quarters. :You're always bored, unless you're hatching some diabolical scheme for the universe's biggest and best prank. What d'you want me to do?:

"No, it shouldn't," he agreed softly, moving almost like he was on autopilot. Patch, weld, repair, replace. Ratchet eventually let drop the energon-stained length of severed tubing he'd just replaced, braced shaky hands on the side of the berth as he stared down at the infrastructure of the Topkick's thigh.
"I'm getting him out of stasis," he muttered, scowling as he reached between neck cabling. "Something's off."
-------------------
Dissever chuckled, the sound underscored by an amused rumble of his engine as he nimbly grabbed Blizzard by the waist, spun her in a dance move that had them fetching up against the side of a berth.
"Jus' need to wait for the results to collate," he said, affirming. "Then we can start on outlining the software upgrades."

It wasn’t the normal cool inky darkness. Repair-stasis quieted subroutines to keep the patient’s systems from fighting the actions of the medic. Processors that were a line of defense holding the virus back were silenced and malicious programming roared through data hacking at lines of code. Broken strings, normal pathways of information cut, frenzied attempts for workarounds and patches. Hacked comms and the energy draw of a smug informant gleefully reporting back damage. Pain-
Eventually he was aware of the click calling him back from stasis. Ironhide tried to heed the call but it was like his consciousness was trapped behind glass; so close, but for an interminable moment he couldn’t move or respond. It frightened him. Then suddenly the barrier shattered and he snapped back online, limbs jerking against the berth before he stilled. Jaw set, ridges furrowed and optics darted. Where was he? How did he get-
Two figures above him.
Trapped, panic, had to. get Out. Close quARTERs. Dizzy gRoped for, weapons clicKed arms. No not enOugh enery soMEthing. blaDe, armour beneAth it- SNARL, pull sLash @ -roLL from laying. Laying weak- . STumble clutch head. Back to wall. CircLe. Door, Out. Out outoutoutout...
The TopKick panted, back plating pressed against the wall after a paranoid slash with a dagger and tumbling from the berth. Disoriented and blinding white pain. His optics dimmed and blazed, both cannons snapping but unable to fully engage. One hand against the side of his helm while the other held the dagger in front of him like a talisman to ward off whatever was trying to hold him there.
-----
Rewire's doorwings hitched higher. All sorta things. But workin' on what I can.
First among them, his bondmate was barely restraining herself from recoiling from his touch. He didn't want her to have to explain what had happened, but he didn't want to recreate some sort of trigger and set her off. In the interim, the predominantly blue mech just tried to keep all the decisions in Raven's hands. She could touch him, choose when things happened. You good for me to get you some energon? Can prolly gank Twilight while I'm on the hunt.
-----
Cloudburst came out of her half-recharge. She was a little stiff, but she waited for Redstar to wake on his own. The mech had actually been out on a mission while she'd been resting, after all. She couldn't help but keep thinking about how he'd been uncomfortable with the issues over spark systems before slipping into recharge.
-----
Having recorded and tried to work through Jazz's verbal report and what the issues would be with Ravage, Optimus sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Revolving door of issues. And not straightforward military ones. He was versed in handling them, but not since before the war had it been his exclusive office. Somehow, he felt out of practice. Shunting that aside, the Peterbilt got himself an energon from his cabinet and leaned against the desk, thinking.

:Yeah? So? Your point is?: Sideswipe’s head fell back and he groaned. Frag this. He hopped to his feet and left the common room. If there was nothing else to do he was going to go recharge.
~*~*~*~
Blizzard’s gyros were knocked out of balance at the spin and she grabbed hold of Dissever once she was standing still. She laughed at his amusement and kissed his cheek, “Clever mech.”
~*~*~*~
Her report was done, she had tied up a few loose ends, and she found a few other things to make herself appear busy. Still no reply and as far as she was concerned that was all the reply she needed. Downloading her report to a datapad she went and put it on the arm of Megatron’s chair and headed for the door of the control room. She wasn’t angry or even hurt. She most definitely wasn’t surprised by it.
If you change your mind come and find me. There is something I need to discuss with you if you can make the time. If not, no matter, I'll leave you a note.
~*~*~*~
Chimera considered Skywarp for a moment, "You keep saying how irresponsible you are. Yet you have a sparkling in your care. The two do not mesh. You are obviously more responsible than you say you are."

"Oh, I had help," Dissever murmured, nuzzling an audio. "We're going to be busy. Like I said, we're going to need to upgrade everyone's security protocols in the event someone over at the 'Bots side gets smart enough to figure it out and try to turn it back on us. Going to send in my reports in a bit."
--------------------
If you need to discuss something, he commed back. Then all right. One moment.
Turned to Soundwave, nodded. "Take it down and keep it secure."

A frisson of fear raced through her but she clamped down on it as quickly as she could. I’ll be fine. Go get Twilight. She rolled onto her side and shuttered her optics before she thought of something else and quickly turned to look at Rewire again. Can you lock the door behind you?
~*~*~*~
Redstar shifted a bit, lay still for a while, shifted a bit more, lay still again, finally opened his optics and smiled at Cloudburst. Hey ya. You didn’t have ta stick around here if you were bored.
~*~*~*~
Soundwave nodded to Megatron and took the box to the vault below the base.
~*~*~*~
Very well. Nightstrike crossed her arms over her chest and leaned against the wall, working through what she wanted to say and feeling rather uncertain how it would all go down. Her mind turned to making lists. Lists of things she might need in the weeks to come, things to make her life a bit easier. She made lists of those she still needed to speak to. Lists, lists, lists...
~*~*~*~
Blizzard nodded and gave Dissever a quick kiss.
((Yep. I fail.))
